Since we tend to get a little technical from time to time I thought it would be a good idea to add a short section on Botany. Aka – what some of the terms mean and how they are used for describing plants, etc. Consider this as a quick reference!
Full disclosure – I do not have a degree in Botany, nor have I ever received formal training. But, I read and teach myself when the need arises. When it comes to identifying plants in the wild, learning the terminology (and applying it correctly) has been invaluable. There are also numerous public domain Botany Textbooks, some of which I have linked to in the references of the associated pages.
These ‘botany’ pages will be a work in progress, as I have to make the sketches, scan them, and clean them up prior to posting. But, without further delay, I present our “work-in-progress” ‘glossary’ and Botany Guide!
